JAI Martial Arts is located on the Mezzanine Level of Gallery West in Pacific Square shopping centre located in the heart of Maroubra Junction. Classes run 7 days per week, with Monday to Friday starting from 4pm, Saturday classes from 9am and Sunday from 10am.
It is true that martial arts teaches children how to kick, punch and block. However it also teaches many life skills that are deeply embedded into the ancient arts. Child psychologist Jeffrey Bernstein says, The power of martial art "discipline comes not from side kicks or sleeper holds, but rather from an unrivaled ability to teach confidence and self respect."

Self Confidence
By learning how to defend themselves, children will develop confidence in how to handle life’s obstacles. Martial Arts will breed self confidence through the belt ranking system. As children progress through to higher belts, their confidence in themselves will also increase.
Self Control
Children will learn self control through respect. Children will learn that in order to be respected, you must firt respect others. Once they understand this, their self control will naturally increase over time.
Discipline
Discipline is needed in all aspects of life and at all ages. Children will learn the etiquette and practices of Martial Arts, and these practices are paralleln to all aspects of life.
Focus
Through step by step repetitive movements, personal attention, positive reinforcement, adherence to rules and group reinforcement, children will see improvements in their ability to focus on given tasks.
Goal Achievement
Through the belt ranking system, children will learn what is required of them in order to move up to a higher belt rank. By doing this, children will be able to set their goals and successfully achieve it through their training.
